Im Kopf habe ich es schon seit Daniel einen Abend bei Kubik darüber gemacht hat, aber erst jetzt bei meinen Vorbereitungen zu dem ToGo am Sonntag bin ich auf das Ausmaß dieser weltweiten Aktion gestossen. Im Jahr 2000 hat die Aktion „Dropthedebt“ (Erlassjahr) bewirkt, dass der 3.Welt 111 Billionen Dollar an Schulden erlassen wurden – krass, aber noch nicht genug.
Die Aktion geht weiter: Deine Stimme gegen Armut heißt es und wendet sich an die Regierungschefs der G8 Staaten, dafür zu sorgen, dass sie ihr Versprechen, die weltweite Armut bis 2015 zu halbieren, einhalten.
Man hat auf jeden Fall das Gefühl das, über das persönliche Engagement und Geben hinaus hier auf einer größeren Ebene etwas bewegt werden kann. Klicken, unterschreiben, unterstützen. Darum dieser Post.

I had it in my mind ever since Daniel explained the thing in kubik, but not until now I really found out about the scale of this. In the year 2000 the campaign „Dropthedebt“ was so successful to make the debt of third world countries 111 Billion less, this was great, but not enough.
The campaign continues „Make poverty history“ – it’s primary goal is to adress the chief of state of the G8 countries to act on there talk. They made an agreement to reduce the poverty worldwide by half until 2015, but it’s not looking good.
One gets the impression that apart from giving and doing as a single person we can do something of a larger scale. Support it. That’s why I am writing.
