Ist jetzt schon ein paar Tage her, aber die Meldung ist trotzdem interessant. CEO Steve Jobs hat bekannt gegeben, dass Apple 2007 seine Rechner nur noch mit Intel Prozessoren ausliefern wird. Für mich klingt das nach einer Alternativ Lösung, da es IBM nach Jahren immer noch nicht geschafft hat den G5 Notebook tauglich zu machen und ein G6 nicht in Sicht war.
Apple muss da nachlegen, die Leistungen des PC sind einfach zu hoch geworden. Der Stratege Jobs hat diesen Schachzug vorausgesehen und seit Einführung von MAC OSX die Parallel-Entwicklung für PowerPC und X86 Architektur durchgeführt – so konnte er auf seiner Keynote einen PowerPC mit einem 4,75 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 halten. Clever, der Junge. Bin gespannt was aus der Sache wird….

Not really news anymore, but still interesting: Apple CEO Steve Jobs anounced the switch to Intel CPU – in 2007 Apple will ship it’s computers with Intel CPU only. It’s sounds to me like an alternative strategy, because IBM failed to bring the G5 to iBook/Poerbook and there hasn’t even been a rumor as to a G6.
If Apple wants to compete, they had to act, because of the development in efficiancy in PCs. Steve proofed himself once more as a wise Leader who anticipated this situation and developed since the release of MAC OSX a parallel Version for X86 Architecture – at his Keynote he worked with a PowerPC that ran a Pentium 4 4,75 GHZ. He’s a smart one – I’m curious where this will end…..
